This week, the Cincinnati Enquirer published a guest column by our Executive Director Gina Marsh about the fact that too many people are having to spend too much of their income on rent. This is a problem that has come about due to wages not keeping up with the rising cost of housing. Our region, like many across the country, has not responded quickly enough to build more affordable housing for our lowest income residents. While the solution to this problem lies in raising wages and creating more affordable housing, there are less complex actions our local elected leaders can take in the short term to help.
