Vanessa is a trailblazer, strategist, and community builder stepping in as Interim Executive Director.
Vanessa Freytag retired as President & CEO of 4C for Children after 10 years of service in 2025. In that role and her previous eight-year tenure as the Executive Director of The Women’s Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation she championed quality child care, social services, economic equity, and nonprofit capacity building at the local,
regional, and state levels. She chaired several boards, including the Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association (OCCRRA), the Hamilton County Human Services Chamber and the Leadership Council for Nonprofits. Prior to her leadership roles in nonprofit, Vanessa owned two businesses, Women’s Business Cincinnati, a newspaper serving the Tristate, and W-Insight, a firm specializing in marketing to women through which she worked with some of the largest corporations in America. She began her career in banking, eventually rising to a Senior Vice President and leading national
efforts at Bank One (now Chase Bank).
